What is PoE? What do you mean by

1Point? Can we use PROX cards with 1Point? What is
Wiegand? What is logical access? My controller shows up as
a question mark, what does that mean? My transactions don't
show up in my event log, what's wrong? Can I see a demo of
how 1Point works? How do I reuse cards that have been
deleted out of the system? I created a user in the Admin
console but when I log in it's all blank My Holidays
aren't working properly, how do I fix it? Where can I get more help?
What is PoE? PoE stands for Power over
Ethernet. Basically it's a system to transmit electrical power,
along with data, to remote devices over standard twisted-pair
cable in an Ethernet network. This works just like a corded
telephone.
What do you mean by "Converged IP Access"?
Converged IP Access is the means by which you can physically
access your building with an RFID card, and use the same card to
log onto your computer securely using the same solution.
Can we use EDGE SOLO devices with 1Point?
We can update the firmware to convert EDGE SOLO devices to
hosted EDGE devices that will work with the 1Point system.
Please note that this action is not reversible.
Can we use PROX cards with 1Point? 1Point
can use any kind of reader technology with the EDGE device as
long as its output is 26-bit Wiegand. This includes:
iClass, PROX, Indala, MIFare, DESFire, Crescendo, and AWID.
What is Wiegand? Please see HID
documentation
here
What is logical access? Logical access is
two-factor authentication via Microsoft Active Directory to a
computer on a windows domain.
My controller shows up as a question mark,
what does that mean? If you see a question mark it means the
controller isn't talking with the 1Point software. If you
know the IP address of your controller try using the ping
command in the command prompt to test internet connectivity.
If you do not know the IP address of the device run the system
hardware report in the 1Point web client. If you can ping the
controller please go back and check all setting in the
controller and the 1Point software. If you can't ping the
controller please check all network settings and connections.
My transactions don't show up in my event
log, what's wrong? Make sure your time is set for each
controller. Under the Monitor/Command Tab and the status
sub-tab in the web client click
on "Set Time" next to the reader in question.
Can I see a demo of how 1Point works?
The 1Point demo can be viewed
here
How do I reuse cards that have been deleted
out of the system? To reuse cards that have been deleted from
the system open the 1Point Web Client as an Administrative user.
Under the Access Control Tab click on the sub-tab Cards.
If you know the card's raw bit pattern you can enter the card
manually and assign it to a user. If you don't know the
card's encoded ID please follow instructions below: Under the
Monitor/Command tab click the Status sub-tab. (if you don't see
the status tab you need to log-in as an administrator) If
you click on a controller there is an option to "refresh cards"
click on this option for your enrolling reader. Then you
may re-enroll that card via the enrolling reader, once the card
is in the system all other controllers in the system will update
with the new card information.
I created a user in the Admin
console but when I log in it's all blank Users
are created without the privilege to view the tree or
transactions. To allow them to view transactions click the
Users Tab, Select the Users sub-tab, select the user to assign
rights, select the projects tab. The two drop-down boxes
that you want to change are explorer and syst.
My Holidays aren't working
properly, how do I fix it? Holidays are added
when you create each schedule. For example, in the picture
below you can see how we setup a business hours schedule for
employee access where employees will have access from 6:50AM to
4:30PM but will be denied access on major holidays and have
access from 6:50AM to 12:01PM on Christmas Eve.
